I signed up with MCHost in August 2006 and a few weeks into my hosting I read about past negative reviews. First i was a bit concerned about this but so far, i can say my experience has been a mostly positive one, much better than my previous host, Voxtreme.

I have been doubled/tripled billed too. This still has not been resolved and it happened over a year ago. The final straw is them bouncing back my email from some bonifide servers because of some ancient setting on the mchost end. So now I have sporatic email and have had to switch to a yahoo email for people that are getting bounce backs. Their smtp ip addy appears frequently in SpamCop. That means your email gets bounced back for that reason too.

i have been with MCHost for over two years now and while there have been downs and ups i have to say i've been mostly satisfied. they are a little more expensive than competitors but have been in the industry for long enough to provide a good service for your money.

no support

Service is ok, with the exception of the support. They don't post numbers or have a chat-room available for support. Great for hosting multiple sites, cool admin interfaces. No interface for billing, you have to post tickets... response is awful, even in marked as "urgent", what a joke. For example: after more than an year of paying, they still deactivate my account for payment delays. It's absurd. I would move if it didn't take so long to move all those sites. Good prices and ok performance. No support.

Absolutely zero support and the only thing consistent about their billing practices are repeated attempts at double and triple billing. I, too, finally had to close my credit card account to stop them from stealing from me. Run Away!!!!

I signed up with this company in 2002 for a server when things were great. But within 10 months the service was very bad, lots of downtime and no support.
In the end I cancelled my account but mchost still kept billing me, in the end I had to report credit card fraud to get my money back from them.
STAY AWAY

This company in my opinion, is fradualent, double and triple charges people's cc, has the worst support in the history of support and Mark Weiss (owner) couldn't run a decent business if he wanted to.
I haad a reseller account with them for about 8 months. It was 8 months of pain, next to no support and if it wasn't for me baggering him in the forums and emailing him several times a day, I probably would have been double billed as well.
DO NOT order their non-services. It will cost you money, give you headaches and your valuable time will be wasted. Oh yeah, downtime with MCHost? Count on it!!

If your plan is to resell some small web site or some big, this is the place for you, great uptime and they use the CPANEL program to administer account. Very easy to use and web access always FAST ! i recommand this provider !

When looking for a hosting provider, if you click on "Customer Care" and see this: "Support Documentation: Extensive support documentation will be available shortly." Run. Run fast. Run far. Support documentation should be the FIRST part of the site completed.

Hosting prices are great but you will sacrifice customer service since they dont have a valid phone number posted anywhere online and if your sites go down..good luck in reaching someone to fix in right away. It took 24-48 hours fo downtime for me before someone got them up and I had to do all this thru an online form..no live help.
