A disaster

Switching to OLM has proved to be a major and costly mistake for my company, and I am working towards transferring my service back to another provider. When I can get to my e-mail, it is extraordinarily sluggish, unreliable and not user friendly. OLM's tech support, while courteous, only band-aids the problems, and good luck trying to get through during business hours.

I've been with OLM.NET for about 6 years. In the beginning, their service was wonderful. However, it has steadily degraded. For example, now, our web site has some sort of problem almost all the time. The site is either completely inaccessible or email is sluggish at best and non-functioning at worst. I am currently looking at alternative web hosting services and will likely move our web site within the week.

We signed up for their Commerce SE-3 service. It's $49.95 per month, plus a $25 set up fee and offers good storage and bandwidth, plus lots of mailboxes. Their web pages are well-organized, well-designed, clear and easy to understand. The system administrator control panel design is good--it puts most common items at the sysad's fingertips. Here's a shocker: THEY HAVE AN ACTUAL USER'S GUIDE! With a drop-down table of contents, and an index, and a search feature, and a glossary, an', an', an' an' EVERYTHING! Most of the instructions are excellent, highly detailed and illustrated. They have a file upload feature so you don't need FTP access software, although file handling is kind of slow (at least for site with about 85 files). Mail login and access are fast and easy. Tech support is good and is 24/7. So far we're very happy with OLM and we feel comfortable recommending their service for your small business.
