I have posted about UPLINKEARTH before saying it was a good hosting company to use back in 2002. And I had service at uplinkearth from 2001 to the end of 2006. And I will say from 2001 - END OF 2006 I never had a big problem. It wasnt until uplinkearth decided to change there policies for the 100th time that I was ever dispointed. The reason I am no long with them is because they decided to disallow php sockets, and a few other functions that where allways there a few years ago. Also due to the fact I had permission to host some adult content on my web sites, and one day they say loose it or get out. (note this was even after I had shown them the many tickets I sent in requesting permission to host such content, and had gotten permission from uplinkearth admins) Other then them chaning there TOS and AUP policies all the time, and the fact they disable most functions such as read/write in the same dir, a LOT of php functions, perl functions, and a ton of others that you will eventually end up useing.... Uplinkearth was a good hosting company. A little more money then other hosting companies, but unlike the other comments I read on the page in the all most 6 years I had them, I think I may of had an hour down time., So idonno what there talking about. I spent lots of time researching hosting companies and thought they were the company that I was looking for. Within two weeks, service was slow, bad tech support, and unreliable service. I bailed before the 30 days was up. Seek something else if you want a medium size web site.

Professional and solid service

I have been hosting several sites using their virtual accounts and have had a very good experience. In only 1 instance (to my knowledge) over the past 18 months did the server go down, but it was fixed before I contacted them. Support has been responsive and the control panel interface for ULE has been outstanding.

UplinkEarth is the WORST!

I have been with ULE for about 2 years now and it is the WORST experience I have ever had with a hosting company. A developer programmed my application using CF and MSSQL. I do not know how to modify so I cannot move without possibly causing errors in the application. Developer is out of pocket, so I am stuck.
This server goes down ALL the time. The latest incident was last Friday afternoon (almost 3 days ago). My site went down and I called at 20 til 6:00PM, stayed on hold until 6 at which time, the phone was cut off by someone there. When I called back, I got a machine stating they were closed for the weekend. In the meantime, my site has been down all weekend.
What is so maddening is that this site was not touched by anyone on my end. It started generating CF datasource errors and 'page not found' errors out of nowhere - and now, my hands are tied - I cannot fix and they do not take phone calls on the weekend.
Not to mention that my server gets put on the "spamcop" blacklist frequently. My businesses are legitimate and NOT spamming anyone. Email is CRITICAL to these businesses. ULE's response the last time I could not email my customers ... "spamcop automatically expires its lists after a period of time". So, I guess in the meantime, they expect me to go without emailing my clients?!! That was a completely UNACCEPTABLE answer.
If you have a business site that you will depend on for email and business operations, I would HIGHLY recommend finding a hosting company OTHER THAN UPLINKEARTH!

I been around for a while, been though the 1-day hosting companies that are cheap. Remember you get what you pay for. Im coming on the end of my first year with uplinkearth and to-date I have no complaints. Theyre a real business and takes pride in their services. I have had many problems starting up my web design company, and they have helped me though them all. Iv never waited more then a day for a support tech to replay to my tickets. Iv never had a down time, and thats real important to me. Their phone support it superb. I will never change hosting companies again. One thing I can count on is my hosting company, and that means everything. Try em out. You wont regret it.
